She was found at the side of the road in Greece with her leg badly damaged (later to be removed) and it just touched a place in my heart so I enquired about adopting her. I filled in a simple form, had a house check (easy to pass as I already had 2 dogs at this time) and next thing I knew, she was here!
I called her Cookie and she was wonderful from the start - so happy, as most rescue dogs are, to have someone to give her fusses and food! She is also a drama queen and is known to protest vocally and profusely if she doesn’t like something! Her superpower is sleep, this dog can sleep then have a sleep to get over the exhaustion of sleeping! She is such a gentle soul and loves just curling up and snoozing and I only regret that I didn’t meet her sooner.
She also got me started on the amazing ride of fostering. Through Saving Saints, I’ve had the privilege of helping a number of dogs find their forever sofas. It’s taught me that there’s always a bit of kindness to be found even in the darkest of situations.
I’m grateful for every day Cookie is with me, despite her snoring! If you think you can home a dog, do it, you won’t regret it.
